History

The history of the Chandler Family that owns Fidelity State Bank & Trust Company dates back to 1883. The Chandler Family has been active in Kansas since then and operates the following independent community banks; Fidelity State Bank & Trust Company in Topeka, Kansas, First Bank of Newton, Kansas, and Intrust Bank, N.A., Wichita, the largest Kansas owned bank.

1922 Fidelity State Bank & Trust Company opened for business in Topeka, Kansas
1933 Became a charter member of Federal Deposit Insurance Co
1958 The founder of Fidelity Bank, J. H. Collingwood, sold the bank to Anderson Chandler and members of the Chandler Family
1966 New Home Office building built in Topeka, Kansas
1973 Southwest and Huntoon branches established
1976 Offered ATM Cards
1989 Westridge Branch established
